Mark L. Lamp
President & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Lamp assumed the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of APP in April 2016. His extensive management background includes 30 years in the healthcare industry, where he led product, service, and provider organizations. Most recently, Mark served as President and CEO of American Home Patient, a large durable medical equipment and home health services company based in Brentwood, TN. Previously, Mr. Lamp was President and COO of Guardian Homecare, one of the largest home health businesses in the country. Prior roles include President and CEO of Medical Metrics, and President and General Manager of the former ADAC Healthcare Information Systems.

Mr. Lamp holds a BS and MS in electrical and biomedical engineering from Purdue University, and an MBA in marketing/strategy from San Jose State University.

Thanasis Papaioanu picture

Thanasis Papaioanu
Executive Vice President & Chief Information Officer

Thanasis, a co-founder of American Pathology Partners, has 20 years of experience in corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, and healthcare services, including laboratory operations.

Prior to AP2, Thanasis was a Managing Director at Harpeth Capital, LLC, a Nashville-based investment banking firm, focusing on healthcare services and information technology. Previously, Thanasis served as interim CFO of Innovative Pathology Services, a 14-pathologist AP laboratory based in Knoxville, Tennessee (now part of Quest Diagnostics). Prior to IPS, he was a Director at FTN Midwest, the investment banking subsidiary of First Horizon Bank (NYSE: FHN) and a Director at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, the investment banking subsidiary of SunTrust Banks (NYSE: STI), where he was a senior member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group and the Technology Group.

Thanasis has been involved in over 40 completed M&A and financing transactions totaling to over $1 billion in transactional value, including being involved in the formation and capitalization of CBLPath, a large New York-based pathology laboratory (acquired by Sonic Healthcare in 2011).

Thanasis holds a BS in electrical engineering from Florida Institute of Technology, an MS in electrical engineering and an MS in systems science & mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis, and an MBA from Emory University. He is a member of the American Pathology Foundation.

Tracy Stephens picture

Tracy Stephens
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Stephens has over 20 years of accounting and financial/operating management experience primarily in healthcare services.

Prior to joining AP2, Mr. Stephens was CFO and COO of Urgent Team, a private equity-backed operator of walk-in/primary care facilities in the Southeast U.S. Previously, he was CFO of several companies, including BCS Electric, a full-service electrical subcontractor; TouchTone Medical Imaging, an operator of outpatient diagnostic imaging facilities; and Dolphin Medical, an operator of hospital-based and free-standing radiation and medical oncology centers. Mr. Stephens started his career in public accounting with BDO Seidman/Grant Thornton.

Mr. Stephens holds a BS in accounting from the University of Tennessee.
