Eastern Carolina Pathology (ECP) was founded in 1988 as Wilson Pathology Associates, a partnership of Drs. James Cash and Cheryl Thorne, to serve the physicians and patients of Wilson Memorial Hospital and Wilson, North Carolina. Over the next 20+ years, ECP emerged as a top laboratory in the Carolinas serving hundreds of physicians, and several hospitals, medical centers and surgery centers.

We provide academic-caliber medical consults and interpretation services through Eastern Carolina Pathology, PA, our affiliated but independent, physician-owned medical practice. Our board-certified pathologists have extensive training and experience in several subspecialty areas. And because our pathologists are in their own independent practice, they have the freedom to concentrate on what they do best: practice laboratory medicine.
